SBR Rubber Sheets
SBR rubber sheets are known as general-purpose rubber in industry terminology. This is standard, smooth rubber that forms the basic product of the modern rubber manufacturing industry. Vulcanized from styrene-butadiene rubber, it is produced in sheets of various thicknesses (from 1 to 50 mm), which are typically then rolled into rolls. The name "general-purpose rubber" reflects its ubiquity and popularity across various industrial sectors and everyday applications.
Standard market availability includes rolls with a width of 1.2 meters. In SCP's product range, we also offer rolls with widths from 1.0 to 1.6 meters, tailored to meet the individual requirements of our customers.
Suitable for neutral chemical environments, SBR rubber sheets are used in virtually all branches of industry. They serve as an economical alternative to materials with high abrasion resistance. Being a non-absorbent and moisture-resistant material, they form an excellent base for production of static solutions – including as pads, bumpers, spacers, plow shares, scrapers, and protective covers and aprons in the mining industry.
SBR rubber sheets can be utilized as finished products. They are used as rubber mats on workbenches, cable covers, rubber for shot blasting chambers, and as flooring and surface linings in warehouses and production halls. SBR sheets are used for mobile wall fillings, as well as sound-dampening, protective, and anti-slip elements. They can also serve as semi-finished products in the manufacturing of seals, washers, aprons, plows and scrapers or as stoppers, and bumpers.
Individual customers often use rubber sheets to protect workbench surfaces, garage and basement floors from damage and scratches. This material shields surfaces while simultaneously dampening sound. Sheets can also be used as economical sound-dampening material for workshop furniture equipment – shelves, drawers, and racks – which absorbs the noise of tools being dropped when placed in them.
Application Conditions and Limitations
SBR sheets are intended for indoor use only. Avoid intensive exposure to sunlight and ozone. The material is not resistant to acids, alkalis, or petroleum-based products. Before using specific chemical conditions, it is recommended to carry out test of how selected material performed in the target work environment prior to installation in critical applications.
