Wide Rib flooring – ribbed solid rubber with wide grooves

Wide Rib flooring is a variant of SCP Select ribbed rubber flooring that features a wide, heavy‑duty longitudinal groove running along the surface. This pattern provides a stable bearing surface for wheels, supports and machine bases, while also facilitating cleaning – wider grooves clog more slowly and make it easier to remove sand and small debris.

Due to the geometry of the profile, Wide Rib is recommended for applications where resistance to point loads and safe movement along a single, defined direction of travel are important – for example on ramps, service pits, longer drive‑on approaches and crossing platforms. The flooring is made from solid SBR rubber, which offers good abrasion resistance combined with sufficient flexibility to dampen noise and vibrations. It is an industrial‑grade product, so a noticeable rubber odour is a natural characteristic, especially at the start of use.

Application conditions and limitations

As an SBR‑based rubber flooring, Wide Rib should not be used in environments with continuous presence of oils, fuels, greases or aggressive chemicals – in such cases, special‑purpose compounds or oil‑resistant rubber grades are required. The material is not intended for long‑term exposure to UV radiation and ozone, therefore when installed outdoors the natural ageing process of rubber must be taken into account, along with the need for periodic inspection and replacement of the surface.
