Piramida (Pyramid) flooring – solid SBR rubber
Piramida SCP Select is a solid SBR rubber flooring with a regular raised pyramid surface pattern. The texture forms a dense grid of multi‑directional contact points, which significantly improves footwear grip in all directions of movement and gives the surface a distinctly technical, industrial look. The product is vulcanised and supplied in rolls of standard dimensions (3 mm thickness, 1.2 m width, 10 m length), making it easy to cut by hand with a utility knife and to adapt to the shape of rooms, traffic routes or workstations.
The base of Piramida flooring is a styrene‑butadiene rubber (SBR) compound – a general‑purpose rubber – combining good mechanical resistance with an attractive cost level. The flooring helps to dampen vibrations and noise, improves walking comfort and effectively protects the substrate against abrasion and point impacts, for example from safety footwear or tools being put down. It performs particularly well in entrance areas, on steps, platforms and walkways, in technical corridors, warehouses, workshops and vehicle cargo spaces where strong anti‑slip properties and resistance to intensive use are essential. Piramida flooring is an industrial‑grade product – immediately after unpacking a noticeable rubber odour may be present, which gradually fades over time with adequate ventilation of the room.
Application conditions and limitations
The SBR rubber used in Piramida flooring is intended for service in chemically neutral environments and is not resistant to continuous contact with oils, fuels, greases or aggressive chemicals. Long‑term exposure to such media may lead to swelling, hardening or cracking of the material; for these applications, floorings made from special compounds (e.g. NBR, TPE) should be considered. The flooring is not designed for prolonged outdoor use – constant exposure to weathering, UV radiation and ozone accelerates the ageing of rubber.
Within a typical operating temperature range of approximately -20°C to +70°C, Piramida flooring maintains stable basic mechanical properties. For applications close to the limits of this range, it is advisable to test a sample under actual service conditions. In high‑traffic zones, especially with wheeled traffic or high point loads, permanently bonding the flooring to the substrate will improve surface stability, user safety and the overall service life of the product.
