NBR Rubber Sheets from Zenith
In industrial terminology, NBR rubber sheets are known as oil-resistant rubber. They are produced through the vulcanization of nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR), a synthetic material recognized for its resistance to oils, fuels and greases. Unlike general-purpose SBR rubber sheets, NBR also performs well in environments where contact with petroleum-based products is likely.
Zenith Rubber is a well-established global manufacturer of rubber products. For many years, the company has been supplying materials that combine high manufacturing quality with precision and durability. Thanks to advanced production technologies and rigorous quality control, the Zenith brand has become synonymous with reliability and professionalism in the rubber industry. Its products are often chosen by customers seeking top-quality rubber for demanding, safety-critical applications.
As standard, Zenith NBR rubber sheets offered by SCP are available in thicknesses from 1 to 10 mm and supplied in rolls with widths of 1.2 and 1.4 meters. NBR sheets are widely used wherever resistance to oils, greases and fuels is required. They are commonly applied as construction material in the automotive, hydraulic, pneumatic and construction industries. Typical applications include cutting gaskets, static seals and spacers, as well as protecting work surfaces such as workshop tables and benches, including in domestic use.
However, it should be noted that NBR’s resistance to petroleum-based substances is not absolute. It depends on the type of substance, its chemical aggressiveness, exposure time and additional factors such as simultaneous UV radiation or elevated temperature. Zenith NBR sheets offer a broad resistance profile; nevertheless, we always recommend testing the material with the specific medium in advance, especially in critical applications or when working with highly aggressive substances. The operating temperature range in which Zenith NBR sheets maintain stable properties is from –30°C to +90°C. White Zenith NBR sheets with FDA certification offer an extended temperature range from –35°C to +100°C.
Application conditions and limitations
Although NBR rubber is resistant to oils and greases, it does not withstand weathering, ozone or UV radiation. For this reason, indoor use is recommended and prolonged exposure to sunlight should be avoided. The material is not resistant to acids or alkalis, so before using it in chemically aggressive environments, it is advisable to carry out a compatibility test under conditions similar to the actual operating environment.
