Molet TPE (round dot) flooring
Molet TPE rubber flooring is a modern version of the classic round‑stud flooring (molet, coin, metro), manufactured from a thermoplastic elastomer instead of traditional SBR rubber. It is a thermoplastically formed product, supplied in rolls of standard lengths and widths, easy to cut by hand with a utility knife and to adapt to the shape of rooms, traffic routes or workstations. The use of a TPE compound provides lower surface weight, a highly aesthetic appearance and improved performance wherever, in addition to floor protection, resistance to environmental conditions is also important.
Molet TPE flooring effectively dampens vibrations and noise, improves walking comfort and helps prevent footwear from slipping thanks to its raised studded surface. It is suitable as a finish for concrete floors in garages, workshops, vehicle cargo areas, as well as in corridors and technical rooms where anti‑slip properties and easy cleaning are important. Compared to Molet flooring made from SBR rubber, the TPE version offers significantly better resistance to weathering and petroleum‑based products, and its odour is usually milder. Molet TPE flooring is an industrial‑grade product – immediately after unpacking a noticeable material odour may be present, which gradually fades over time with adequate ventilation of the room.
Application conditions and limitations
The TPE compound used in Molet flooring provides better resistance to atmospheric factors than classic SBR rubber, which means the product can also be used in partially outdoor areas or locations exposed to occasional external conditions. At the same time, despite its increased resistance to petroleum‑based products, it is not a completely chemically inert material – in case of contact with aggressive media or long‑term exposure to specific substances, it is recommended to carry out a trial under actual service conditions. The standard operating temperature range of TPE floorings corresponds to typical workshop and garage applications; for use in extreme temperatures or in the presence of strong chemicals, it is advisable to check the technical specification and test the product on a small section first.
