Diament (Diamond) flooring – solid SBR rubber
Diament SCP Select is a solid SBR rubber flooring with a characteristic embossed diamond surface pattern. The texture consists of regular diagonal ribs resembling the reinforcing embossments found on industrial steel plate and is visually related to hammer and checker designs. This structure helps to mask minor dirt and scratches while improving footwear grip compared to a smooth rubber surface. The product is vulcanised and supplied in rolls of standard lengths and widths (e.g. 3 mm, 1.2 × 10 m), making it easy to cut by hand with a utility knife and to adapt to the shape of rooms, traffic routes and workstations.
The base of Diament flooring is a styrene‑butadiene rubber (SBR) compound – a general‑purpose rubber – which makes the product an economical solution for industrial and technical indoor applications. The flooring helps to dampen vibrations and noise, improves walking comfort and protects the substrate against mechanical damage such as abrasion and impacts. It performs particularly well on concrete floors in workshops, warehouses, service back rooms, garages and technical corridors, and can also be used as a surface finish in storage areas and on worktops where anti‑slip texture and a clean, technical appearance are important. Diament flooring is an industrial‑grade product – immediately after unpacking a noticeable rubber odour may be present, which gradually fades over time with adequate ventilation of the room.
Application conditions and limitations
The SBR rubber used in Diament flooring is intended for use in chemically neutral environments and is not resistant to continuous contact with oils, fuels, greases or aggressive chemicals. Long‑term exposure to such media may result in swelling, loss of elasticity and accelerated wear, so for these applications floorings based on special compounds (e.g. NBR, TPE) should be considered. The material is not designed for prolonged exposure to weathering, UV radiation and ozone; therefore, the flooring is recommended mainly for indoor use or sheltered areas.
Within a typical operating temperature range of approximately -20°C to +70°C, Diament flooring maintains stable basic mechanical properties. For applications close to the limits of this range, it is advisable to test a sample under actual service conditions. In high‑traffic zones, especially with wheeled traffic, permanently bonding the flooring to the substrate will improve surface stability, user safety and the overall service life of the product.
